Like other mixed breeds, Cockaliers can vary in size and personality from dog to dog, and it is not uncommon to have a dominant parent breed. Cockaliers are usually friendly and affectionate, which is why they are among the best lapdogs. Additionally, because they are a crossbreed, they are relatively healthier than purebred Spaniels. They are usually 30-40cms tall and can weight 9-18 kg.
Cockaliers are gentle and good with children and are also more patient than most other breeds. What’s more, they are quite tolerant with unfamiliar situations and are the least likely to hurt people. They are also quite responsive and smart, making them immensely easy to train. They love to play and swim too, which makes it important you are able to ensure your Cockalier gets exercise on a regular basis.
Most Cockaliers require regular moderate maintenance, but to keep their fur in prime condition, professional grooming should be done every six weeks.
These cuties are a cross between two European breeds, a Cocker Spaniel and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, two parent breeds that are obviously closely related.
